Networking w2000 and w98

Mike Danbury

I am trying to network two home PC's one with windows 98
and one with w2000. The PC's can see each other the w98
m/c can access files on the w2000 one but not the other
way around. When trying to access the w98 machine the
w2000 machine responds with a pop up window "Enter network
password" Incorrect password or unknown username for
\\"file I'm trying to access" Connect as ... pasword...

I'm not sure at which end hte problem lies, I look arond
all the settings etc and can't find any menu options on
either machine to set network passwords.

Second problem is related to printers, I want to share the
printer on hte w2000 machine, it apears I have to add w98
driver. I then get promted for a .inf file it says its on
hte w2000 cd but I only have the original oem ones and its
does appear to be on those where can I get htis from?

Any help gratefully recieved.

Regards

Mike

Make sure all computers are in the same workgroup and that all useraccounts
exist on all computers. Got File- and printersharing loaded?
