Networking a printer

Please thanks a million for organising this kind of opportunity.
I have a problem. You know, networking a printer should be great fun.
However the reverse seem to be the case. the problem i have is my office
network. I manage the network. The network is like this:An internet
connection that is shared among the local Area network. The problem i have is
that in some offices, it is not easy to network a printer. The funny thing
about it all is the they are all running windows xp. And they are all on the
same workgroup.
Some of the error messege i receive includes: 'you do not have permission to
this workgroup. Contact the adminitrator of the connection.

Hi Ime,
Is these offices have /assigned the Rights to Share Files/Printer services
in their accounts?
There are two things which can make trouble to your network:
1-your Wins Firewall is not allowing the File/Print share services or if you
have a third party firewall is blocking this service, try to allow this
network printer in either Firewall!( Windows, or Third party firewall)
on the Machine have trouble be sure that NetBios Over TCP/IP is Enabled and
you have File and Printer protocol installed on it.
Hope this helps
Please write back with your findings
Regards
nass
