I just aquired another computer that is running XP home
and I can not seem to get it to access the network - 3
computers all XP Pro /2 via the ethernet and one wireless.

The pc that I aquired still has much of the info from the
last person and I can't seem to get it to release the
subnet and ip when on the hub - if I connect directly into
the lan box fine it reads the ip and runs the internet -
but not on the hub - linksys befw1154 - I think I have
tried everything - so I am just overlooking something and
can not remember - can anyone refresh me or suggest or
help or anything - thanks

Are you perhaps doing MAC filtering on the BEFW11S4?

Let's start with the network configuration of the problem computer - both when
connected directly to the internet (thru the LAN box), and when connected to the
router (The BEFW11S4 is a NAT router).
Start - Run - "cmd". Type "ipconfig /all >c:\ipconfig.txt" into the command
window - Open c:\ipconfig.txt in Notepad, copy and paste into your next post.

Also please provide the same for one of the properly working computers, when
connected to the internet thru the router.

Cheers,
Chuck
Paranoia comes from experience - and is not necessarily a bad thing.
