I have a computer club member's Win XP SP2 computer here that cannot access
the internet. When setting up or repairing the network connection there is a
message that indicates that it can't set the IP address. Dynamic settings is
specified.

On re-booting the system, a message appears that reads: TCP/IP Network
Transport is not installed.

Any suggestions?

Make sure the TCP/IP protocol is enabled?

By the way, following the installation of the Microsoft Genuine Advantage
program, 55 updates were available. From experience, I know that there will
be others.

Thanks for the consideration.
