HP Ipaq Connection

My IPAQ PDA was hooked up to my computer and was
connecting and syncing just fine. I'm not sure what
happned, but I've recently had a recurring error message
at boot-up (Mobile Devices Properties: TCP/IP network
transport not installed). Now, ActivSync shows a
perpetual "Connecting..." and won't talk to the IPAQ. I
checked under networking and TCP/IP appears to be
installed. Any suggestions as to how to proceed?

No, I get that message on the desktop machine, when it
boots up. Then, when I try to run ActivSync, I get the
the message: "TCP/IP network transport not installed".
Yet, TCP/IP seems to be present when I go to the Control
Panel and check Network settings.
