scvhost.exe running at 99% preventing system from booting

Everytime we bring up XP we have 4 versions of
scvhost.exe running and one of them uses 99% of the CPU
preventing anyhting from coming up. The only thing that
was installed 2 months ago was a HP IPAQ and ghost killer
software (recently). The machine comes up in safe mode
but not in regular mode. Also, a message saying "TCP/IP
network transport is not installed" appears when we come
up in regular mode. HELP!!!!!
