I am now on the final bit of setting up a Home network. I
have manaed to set up a peer-peer wireless LAN (802.11g)
between my PC and laptop (both running XP Home SP1). The
PC is connected to the internet via Broadband (USB
connection to DSL Modem). Both my computers are using a
192.168.0.x address for their wireless LAN adapter. When I
run the Network Setup Wizard it all goes swimming well in
the parameter set up phase and it then rushes off to do
the set up. Just before it finishes there is a SPOOLSV.EXE
Application Error (1000) and then the set up looks like it
is finishing off but no Home Office Lan is evident
thereafter. I assume that because of this error that the
set up aborts.
Any clues anybody - the MS KB shows nowt and whilst there
is plenty of other stuff related to SPOOLSV.EXE on the web
my specific problem isn't mentioned.

Thanks. I think I have already tried this (tried
everything else) and it didn't work. I think what seems to
be happening is that during the network setup wizard the
spooler is stopped and then restarted. It seems to fail on
the restarting bit cos when I go back into Services after
the fail the Spooler is stopped (whereas it was running
before the wizard started.
Do you think a Stop and then Disable would work?

You may want to try uninstalling any printers. setting up the network, then reinstalling them

THis error always comes up as a known problem their working on, gives me a warm fuzzy.
