computer does not show in network place after setup wizard

O

otto

I brought a second computer both with XP. I setup the LAN connection, file &
printer sharing with the wixard. Inta and intranet was working fine.

I had to restore the old computer and that is when ( I think) my intranet
went down. I have checked all I can, firewall, TCP/IP, file sharing,
connection settings, computer and workgroupnames.

When I run the network setup wizard and browse for a connection the
wrokgroup is there but no computers are in the network place.

My new computer does not recognise the old computer in it's network place

Hi
Check the new computer Network configuration.
http://www.ezlan.net/debug.html
If every thing checks OK go Manually (let the wiz resting) over the Sharing
settings on each computer.
Successful Sharing involves some general consideration in Network settings,
http://www.ezlan.net/sharing.html
As well as specific adjustment of each computer according to what it is
allowed to be shared.
