Network question.

Q: I want to upload data from my laptop computer to my master pc. Does
anybody know where I should start. Do I need other software or does xp have a
wizard? I can connect through a DSL router or can connect through parallel
cable. I am totally new to xp and lost.

Any help appreciated.

So are both PC running XP and is if XP Pro or XP Home? Also, you
mention Dsl Router does this mean that you have both PC connected to the
internet via a router connection.

A better newsgroup might be the following:

Easiest way is to use a crossover cable between the computers and run the
Network Setup Wizard on both computers. See Windows Help and Support.

OK sorry for the lack of information. Master computer runs on xp professional
- Laptop is win98 and does not have the resources to run xp. Both are
connected to the internet via DSL router 24/7. Up until now I have not had
success with the xp wizards in seting up a communication connection with both
computers. Any ideas?
