Network Printer Problems XP/98

My HP 845c deskjet (usb) is connected to one PC running Win98. We are
wirelessly connected to a new PC upstairs, running XP. My network can see
each other. Both computers can go online (cable). The incoming cable goes to
a hub, which goes to our wireless unit, then to our Win98 pc. XP pc connects
to hub.

Here's the problem. We can print to HP from upstairs XP pc, but can't print
from pc (win98) that printer connected to. I've spent alot of time going up
and downstairs, checking computer, network names, etc. Kids don't want 98
erased cuz they say some games won't work on XP, that will on 98. Can't
relocate present printer upstairs to connect to XP pc.

I know there has to be a solution. Can't wait to hear it. Have been told not
a great way to setup network, but that's the way it is, unless cable comes
in and goes right to win98 computer, but doesn't that mean it has to be on
for computer upstairs to go online?

Got my answer in the microsoft.public.win98.networking newsgroup. My
apologies if posted in wrong group. I always got so many answers here in the
past in building systems. Belated thanks.
