Network Printer problem

I have added and removed the printer several times and installed it with the
printer driver but cannot print from the networked computer. It shows its
ready and sharing is enabled and connected to the right port. No firewall
is on but when I try to print nothing happens. No printing is qued up. I
have tried several programs. When I go the main computer and go to
workgroup on that computer the printer does not show up yet it says it's
ready. I can ping both computers and can see them from either just can't
print. Any help appreciated. Thanks

Things you can check:

1) Start > Settings > Printers and Faxes. Right click on the shared printer
icon. Select "Properties" and click "Print Test Page" button. Does it print?
2) When you print from the other computer (not the one physically connected
to the printer), is the shared print the default printer? You may be sending
the data to a "Print to File" device for example.
3) Can you see the shared print on the networked computer? Pinging the
computers won't tell you about any other networked devices, just that there
is a LAN connection.
4) Start > Settings > Control Panel > double click "Network Connections".
Right click "Local Area Connection" and select "Properties". Is the "File
and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks" protocol installed and checked
in the list?

I checked everything you mentioned and all seems OK. Thanks I will keep
