Network - MSHOME is not Accessible

Hi Anyone, I just though i'd venture into the world of Networks to try and
share resources between my Mobile and Desktop PC's. I have a wireless
Broadband Router. The Desktop is plugged into the router using the ethernet
cable. and the Laptop uses the Wireless card. Both PC's have access to the
Internet and E-mail with no problem. However, i cannot get then to share
files with each other. I have tried using ipconfig and the ping 127.0.0.1.
These all seem to work fine. When i try and find the computers on the network
i keep getting the following message. MSHOME is not accessible. You might not
have permission to use this network resource........The list of servers for
this workgroup is not currently available. Can anyone please help!!! please
please

Since you haven't told us whether you're using Home or Pro, here are
links to help you with sharing both versions:

(Pro)

Make sure you configure all firewalls to allow the lan as trusted and
that you don't inadvertently have two firewalls running. For instance,
SP2 automatically enables the Windows Firewall and you don't want that
if you have a third-party firewall installed.

And last but certainly not least, here is a network troubleshooter by
MVP Hans-Georg Michna. Take the time to go through it carefully and it
will pinpoint the problem area(s).

SUCCESS!!! Just the ticket, this has worked. I found two related problems.
The first was that i had Windows Firewall enabled on both computers. I
disabled this. And secondly, my normal firewall (Norton) wasn't configured
correctly to see these IP addresses. A few simple clicks and the use of
Nortons Network Wizard, and hey presto all appears to be working fine. I
would have spent many many hours going round in circles trying to resolve
this without your assistance. Many Thanks...

Fabulous! I'm so glad you got it working. Thanks for taking the time to
let me know.
