Network connections service error

Hello,

Recently when booting my laptop i discovered that i couldn't view any of my network connections (dial up and LAN) in ctrl panel/network connections. whenever i hit refresh i get the message:

The Network Connections folder was unable to retrieve a list of Network Adapters on your machine. Please make sure that the Network Connections service is enabled and running

I checked in computer management/services and the network connections service is running, however even after restarting the service i still couldn't view my connections.

Is there any way to fix this problem? all help would be greatly appreciated

Also check if the Remote Access Connection Manager service is running
