network card problems

I have several windows XP SP2 computers with all the updates applied that are
unable to open webpages or ping to the outside of the network. The network
properties should it is connected and has a valid IP address. I do not think
this is the problem. I tried to manually enter the dns server information
and it still will not find the webpage or ping out.

I tried reloading the network drivers, uninstalling the network card,
disabling/uninstalling any firewalls. Nothing seems to work. I know the dns
and dhcp server works, because other computers are able to use it without any
problems.

Any suggestions to a fix?

Andrew,

Can you access resources in the LAN (between computers)?

Could be corrupted LSP / Winsock, or TCP/IP.

http://support.microsoft.com/?id=811259

If XP SP2, Start - Run - "cmd". Type "netsh winsock reset catalog" into the
command window.

Give LSP-Fix <http://www.cexx.org/lspfix.htm>, WinsockFix
<http://www.tacktech.com/display.cfm?ttid=257>, or WinsockXPFix
<http://www.spychecker.com/program/winsockxpfix.html> a shot.

If no help yet, reset TCP/IP.

Start - Run - "cmd". Type "netsh int ip reset c:\netsh.txt" into the command
window.

If nothing yet, provide ipconfig information for each computer, and we'll do
some additional diagnostic work.
Start - Run - "cmd". Type "ipconfig /all >c:\ipconfig.txt" into the command
window - Open c:\ipconfig.txt in Notepad, make sure that Format - Word Wrap is
NOT checked!, copy and paste entire contents into your next post. Identify
operating system (by name, version, and SP level) with each ipconfig listing.

I try it out and let you know tomorrow.

I am able to access internal resources fine. I can access file shares,
email server, and the domain controller. But once I leave the internal
network, nothing is getting resolved.

I have noticed that once I assign an static ip address, the problems goes
away. I am not sure why, because the settings for the dns server is the same
whether I use dhcp or not.

Thanks for your help. The TCP/IP reset and winsock fix worked.

Kewl. Thanks for updating us.
