network cable connection problems

hi,

my network connection icon says the cable is unplugged
when the cable is still plugged into the network port.
anyone ever experience this problem? HELP! i'm pulling my
hair out.

I have experienced this problem in many different ways.
Could be a bad port on the switch, bad cable, or your NIC
might not be compatible with the switch you are running.
My experience with the compatibility between our SMC
TigerSwitch and our Intel Integrated cards was causing a
problem like you are stating. Might check some of these
things.
