Netscape 7.1

Does anyone know why this browser does not work in my Win2000 machine?
It seems to install smoothly with no errors or error messages but it
will not launch. I tried both full and the on-line installation but the
same result. I appreciate your input or help. Thanks.

Ask Netscape, or install it more carefully.
v7.1 works well in my W2k.

Just what are you using right now? The mail and newsgroup
portion of Netscape 7.1 seems to be fine, as indicated here:

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.4) Gecko/20030624 Netscape/7.1 (ax)

What happens when clicking on Navigator under Window menu item?
Double-checked all of the menu items under Edit>>Preferences?
NS 7.1 has a lot more items to set up and configure than in the
earlier NS 4.7X or 6.X.

I have had the same experience for the last month or so. I had a problem with Windows 2000 and reloaded Windows. Netscape 7.1 which had run with no problems for almost a year but then would not run after I loaded it. The install goes smoothly without error but ends somewhat abruptly or without the usual closing prompt(s). I dropped down to 7.0 and it worked. I needed the spam filtering so I loaded the latest release of Mozilla. It worked fine, mostly except for an occasional freeze. I then had to reload Windows 2000 again. Now The Mozilla I had run just 2 days before will not start, nor will Netscape 7.1 with or without the latest Java implementation. This is basically a barebones install of windows with only McAfee Virus scan (internet) running along with Zone Alarm 4.5, both of which had been running in conjunction with both browsers before with no apparent problems. This is very puzzling. I will try to load just the mail client since that is the client I have used for years. If I can at least access my email that would help. I can use any number of other browsers to a surf the web. Thanks for any help

I have had the same experience for the last month or so.

Same problem here: newly installed Win 2000 SP4, installing Netscap
7.1 with all the frills.
Radio@Nestace runs OK, so does Winamp.
But Netscape itself just doesn't launch: click then nothing happens.

Help needed, that's for sure
