NTDLL.dll Error message opening Mozilla

J

JClark

Hello Group:

I have the same problem described by another poster (Chefry)
earlier... no response to his post, so there may not be any answer,
but I'll try again.

On both of my Win2k/sp4 computers, I installed the latest copy of
Mozilla (1.7.3), and when I open the program, I get the following
message:

"The procedure entry point RtlUnhandledExceptionFilter could not be
located in the dynamic link library NTDLL.DLL"

I click "OK", the box disappears, and Mozilla opens. I reinstalled the
program (clean) but it didn't help. I installed Netscape 7.1 on the
other computer, and it does the same thing. The only thing different
on the computers otherwise is the latest MS hotfix.

Also I notice that after clicking the OK to remove the error message,
I usualy see two instances of the Mozilla or Netscape progam running.

Any advice will be appreciated.

And I also saw something but couldn't remember where that it might be a virus.

(BTW, Dave, I'm reading every one of your posts because I learn something new each time. Keep it up. It's great stuff.)

And always try the MS KB first before posting.
The answer is probably already posted.

How nice to have that annoying problem go away! Just a simple removal
of that uxtheme file and voilà! ...problem gone!

Many thanks for your reply.

Touché! I'll try to remember that in the future. I had "googled" the
error message and got no hits whatever, so I (falsely) assumed that
MSKB would have been queried in that search.
Thanks again.
