net.exe application error message on shutdown

Whenever I shut down my computer, I get the
message, "net.exe application error (0xc0000142) The
program failed to initialize properly." This message also
appears occasionally when I am playing The Sims Online.
It crashes the program to desktop and will also force the
computer to restart.

Scan with your current antivirus program using updated definitions.
Remove spyware with Spybot Search & Destroy and/or Ad-aware. See if
that helps.
