I'm looking at fitting a smart thermostat at my girlfriends house, as she's got an old wireless thermostat that is very limited in terms of controls. I've been suggesting she holds off buying one until Black Friday, as there will no doubt be sales happening this week.

What's the consensus when it comes to Nest vs Hive thermostats? Most people I know have gone down the Nest route, which is the device we'll likely get. Anyone have any comments or suggestions about which to go for? I've got a Tado system which I have mixed feelings about.

As a Nest owner, I suggest the Nest.

I've not used a Hive, but imo the Nest looks so much better, and I've had 0 issues with it.

E: I've also got a Nest Protect smoke and C02 alarm and between the two of them they do a great job of knowing when we're at home or not so its not firing the boiler if no one's in. :)

That's 2 votes on here for Nest... I think decision made :D. Lemme know if you see any good black Friday deals :thumb: .

Just see the Nest is £159 at Screwfix if that's any good to you.

Cheers @V_R, going to wait till Friday and see if it comes down in price - but will be getting it from Screwfix then if not :).

Bought the Amazon deal you posted and arrived today, thank you!

Hopefully wiring it all up tomorrow.
