nero keeps crashing

we have nero 6 installed it is fully updated but every now and again it crashes it has currently crashed with one minute left to complete is there any way of fixing this or stopping it from happening in the future.

What OS do you have?

OS = Operating system. Like Win XP; Win 98SE, Mandrake 10.1 etc.

And what burner are you using and is this with CD's or DVD's?

Ok well it was nero 6.0.12 but it has been updated to 6.0.14, we have windows xp sp2 and i mainly use the nero start smart to burn both cd's and dvd's but its only the dvd's that cause it to crash. oh and its a sony DRU-720A writer.

Ok, thinking, what media are you using? I've had that problem with some cheapo DVD-R's, even the so called good Ritek purple dye ones.

You could try a different brand of DVD-R, some drives are fussy what discs they like.

I've had no problems at all with Sony & Verbatim, el cheapo from Staples or online (using Pioneer A106 single layer 4 X).

nero crashes

Ive been using Verbatim and Hyundai and i have had crashes with both i dont think it could be the discs cos i have managed to get successfull burns with both and it is only certain things it crashes with, i had tried to burn a project that had crashed with a different disc but had the same problem. I have expanded the virtual memory and that has helped with some of the errors i have had in the past but i am still having problems with nero crashing. thank you for all the time, effort and patience you have given me.
