Need to remove Auto sign in

Claire

I have tried to follow the help given by the software
about removing the automatcic sign on for Windows
Messengre but the instructions given do not tally with
what Windows XP HOME is showing:

"Go to User Accounts in the Windows XP Control Panel (to
open Control Panel, click Start, and then click Control
Panel).
On the Advanced tab, click Manage Passwords.
In Stored User Names and Passwords, click Passport.Net\*,
and then click Remove.
This does not delete your Passport, but removes its
connection with your computer.

Click Close, and then click OK. "

Can any one help?

Claire Jonathan's instructions worked for me but I am using MSN messenger
(not windows messenger) and XP Pro. There may be some differences there.
Wish I could help, Sorry.

Hi Jonathan,

I open up User Accounts and there is no advanced tab. I
have the option to:

Pick A Task - change an account;create a new account;
change the way users log on or off
or
Pick An Account To Change

Claire

Hi Claire,

Oh I see -- I didn't notice that you had grabbed that off the Windows XP ExpertZone website
instead of just off the newsgroups (the difference is only slight). The one on the web site
was edited *incorrectly* and is not correct (even on XP Pro), unfortunately it's out of my
power to change it.

You're right, there is no advanced tab, to correctly remove this, click the Start Button,
then click the Control Panel. Then, click User Accounts in the Control Panel. Select your
account name, and then on the left side of the screen, under Related Tasks, click 'Manage my
Network Passwords'. In the window that opens, click the Passport.Net\* (Passport) entry and
click 'Remove'.

Jonathan,

many, many thanks. Can't believe I missed that one. I
suppose it's like not seeing the wood for the trees...

All is fixed.

Enjoy the holidays!

Claire
