Hi,

I am having a problem. The apartment complex I am moving in this month
provides with free Wireless Internet (802g Type). I need to know a
device that can receive this internet signal and will allow me to
redistribute it in my wired network. I have complete wired network for
my home. The only problem is to convert the wireless internet so that
it can be feeded into my router.

Please help me with this to your earliest.

Thanks...

Just install wireless cards in each computer. Why muck with trying to set up
your own network.

I have some limitation there. Hence trying to get rid of PCI adapters
or USB adapters.

While not the perfect setup, this would most likely work... Get yourself a
Wireless Bridge like those feature on this Linksys page...
http://www.linksys.com/servlet/Sate...940536&pagename=Linksys/Common/VisitorWrapper

Models: WGA11B, WGA54AG, WGA54G

The unit will pick up the wireless signal, and convert it into wired. Run
the wired into the WAN port of your router...

I DON'T GUARANTEE THIS WILL WORK, but according to a review on Amazon.com,
it will work, at least when it's connected to a wired switch, but I can't
see why a router would be any different...

Excellent Wireless to Ethernet Bridge!, August 18, 2006

Purchased this bridge to connect our ethernet printer / copier / fax to our
wireless network. Setup was quick and simple! I ended up connecting it to a
switch to connect a few other ethernet devices as well. Each device was able
to properly obtain an IP address from the DHCP server without interruption
from the bridge, and the bridge is handling the bandwidth very efficiently!
I highly recommend this product for it's stability and easy setup.
