My Befsr41v2 is apparently going bottoms up. (it does about all it suppose
to do except transfer larger files between computers)
What recommendations does anyone have for a new one. I notice there
isn't much available except Wireless which usually have wired capability
as well so that's OK.
My home network has up to 4 computers.
Thanks in advance, Curt

Lookup the websites for manufacturer's of small or home offfice appliances.

These include
Belkin
Symantec
Netcomm
3 Com

All will have Hardware Routers and they have a range of hard wired and
wireless. You will also find more and more that they may include a firewall.
There will be some that have Cable Modem or DSL / ADSL modems built in.

All depends how far you need to go and what you want to spend.

Hi,
My Befsr41v2 is apparently going bottoms up.

The most exciting option -- if you want something different and advanced --
would be a Linksys WRT54G (or GS) with Sveasoft third party firmware:

http://www.sveasoft.com/

Other than that, the popular brand routers are all about equal. I
personally like Netgear.

If your LAN transfers small/medium files reliably but won't transfer large
files, the router would certainly not be my first suspect. If you can't
borrow a replacement, at least buy a new router somewhere with a free
return policy -- and save the packaging and sales slips.

Thanks Bob for the reply. As far as file size, transferring files above 45k
results
in a temporary freeze with no transfer. The results are the same regardless
of
what computers on the net are used. I ran out of ideas on what to check.
This problem
came up quickly after over 3 years with the present configuration.
