Router running slow?

Hi There,

I have the following:

DSL modem (in bridge mode / static IP) connected to Linksys 300N Wireless N
Router. Computer is directly wired into router. Router is configured with
PPOoE and username and passwords entered, all settings are DEFAULT. All
computers, wired and wireless, can connect to each other and the internet.
Technically everything's working fine... except...

I'm IIS on XP and running a web page. When you surf my site you'll notice a
delay from one part to the other... especially when going to the forums. Now
nobody actually post, but that's not the point. It's the delays between on
page an the other that is.

When I directly connect and configure the DSL modem straight to the computer
and run it like that, the speeds are fast. Pages load instantly including
the forum pages. Very impressive. It's only once I reconnect and reconfigure
for the router is when I get the delays. The delays don't occur when you
surf the net from any computer on the home network, just only when you try
to surf my site, including when you surf it from another computer from
outside the house. Very frustrating.

Is there any advice before I contact Linksys? They use overseas tech support
and I find are not as knowledgable as one would think. I tried that route
already once and all they could come up with was ti change the IP address of
the router itself. Never made a difference. Perhaps another newgroup would
better suit my problem?

General things to check:

1) Disable the QoS -- This is a enhanced feature to assure Quality of
Service. Unless your router has this feature installed/active, it
slows down the access times.
2) Make use that the wireless adapter is a 802.11n module. Update
drivers if needed
3) Check for firmware updates to the router. NOTE: Updates must/
should be done over the wired part of the router and you may be
required to re-do router configurations Any router configuration
backup may be be "restorable."
4) Check antenna and replace it if possible. Included antennas are
limited range.
