Need help with windows explorer

Hello all
Win XP Pro system, SP2, w/classic view, all updates.
I have a shortcut on my desktop for windows explorer. Until recently I was
able to double click it and it would open a double pane window with the left
pane showing all drives and all folders under c: drive, in other words C:
drive would be expanded like clicking on the "plus" sign when opened. The
entry in the Target selection of this shortcut is: "C:\windows\explorer.exe
/n,/e,C:\" (without quotes).

Now it won't expand the c: drive, I must actually click on the plus sign
before it will show the expanded view. I don't remember changing any
settings, yet I can't get it to work anymore. Does anybody have a clue to
why it quit working, or how to fix this?? By the way my Laptop has the same
shortcut and it still works perfect.

Some of the things I have done is set Remember folder settings to
8000.(Kelly's bags8000 reg fix)
I applied the recent revised fix for windows explorer problems (Security
bulletin -MS06-015) just in case, but no luck there.
I have compared all my folder settings with the laptop and all are the same.

Thanks in advance to any help here.

Try this: (Copy & paste it into a Run box to test it.)

%SystemRoot%\explorer.exe /e,/select,%systemroot%

Thanks for the reply Drew

If you read my post you will see that your "open at c: "is just a repeat of
mine, except there must be a space between the".exe and the /n,/e,C:\".

My problem is that it does not completly work anymore, it stops in the left
pane at the +C:\ highlited in blue and does not expand like it did before.
I must actually click on the + sign to get it to expand.

Do you know how to fix it so it will work as before?
PS
I forgot to add in my original post I have already tried several restore
points and that did not fix the problem.

Thanks again
Mr Nobody
