Need help with USB printing support...

I bought a new HP 3 in 1 printer and am trying to get the thing to work but
when i hook it up through the USB port (the only way it will hook up) windows
will detect the presence of a USB device but when I get to the part for "USB
printer support" it tries to install but i am getting a failure message that
reads "the required section was not found in the INF". If anyone has
encountered this problem before and has any suggestions on how to fix it then
leave me a reply... Thanks in advance...

On many printers, you must install the software first then plug in the
printer.

I've tried that as well but it still won't work. . .i think i need a driver
for windows itself that doesn't come with the printer but I'm not sure. . .

Try getting the driver at the manufacturer's web site.

I would expect such a printer to come with a CD including drivers. If
you have one take a look in it for the location of the relevant Inf file
(might be down something like English\Windows\USB)
Now start with the power off, and the printer not plugged in. Boot the
computer, switch the printer on, and plug it in a USB port (preferably
one not tried before). When New hardware comes up take the options to
Browse to a driver and point it to the file you located

I have an HP 2210 all-in-one and was getting the same failure message when I
was installing the latest version of the software. The solution in the
document below from the HP help site solved the problem.

There are three solutions depending on the file variation of the error,
solution 2 (USBHUB) worked for me.
