Need help with Sun Java

B

BillW

I have uninstalled and reinstalled Java several times. All of my settings
are correct - both in Java console and IE. I have followed all of the
suggestions that I've been able to find on the Sun site as well as the
various forums including this one. Still, when I go to the Java test site,
I get the blank window with the small X. Does anyone have one more
suggestion as to how I can stop getting the small X instead of a functioning
applet? I'm running XP SP2. Thank you for your help.

Red X image displayed where the applet should be, applets won't run

You should download the newest Java software, available
free, from Sun Microsystems:
http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp

Make sure to uninstall the old version of Java first.
