Hello.
From time to time ( seemingly at random ), my cursor will move up or down just
as if I had pressed the up or down key on my keyboard. The same things happen
with the mouse wheel, where the effect of a wheel-up/down will be seen on the
screen, but I haven't actually moved the wheel. The cursor never moves more
than one line, same with the wheel. Just one quick move.
This is getting incredibly annoying however, especially when programming. It's
also a pain in game, where a mousewheel often changes the weapon you are using.
Pretty damaging when there's a gunfight going on and you revert to the lousy
pistol instead of that plasma rifle
I have a PS2 and USB mouse, but both of these hardware parts are not the
problem as I exchanged both the keyboard and mouse, in turn, with another
computer that didn't exhibit this problem, but on my system the cursor and
wheel moving was still there.
My keyboard is a cheap keytronic, I admit, but it doesn't cause problem on
another computer. My mouse is a MS intellimouse optical. It doesn't cause
problem on other WinXP computer.
This problem occurs even after a re-install of Widows XP!
Here is a description of my computer:
P4 3.0 Ghz
1.25 GB of memory
Asus P4C800 Motherboard
i875P rev.A2 chipset
AGP 3.0 8x
Asus Radeon 9800XT video card
I have a hard time believing that it's my motherboard. Maybe a fudged driver
somewhere?
*ANY* suggestion is most welcome.
Thanks!
