Need Help ti Format XP

I have a Dell computer and when I go put the recovery cd in it tells me that
the
version on computer is newer than the one on cd. Its the cd that came with
computer. Can anyone give me any suggestions. Thank You.

what are you trying to do with the recovery cd? Its giving you this error
because you probably have SP2 installed and that is newer that what your CD
is.

If you are trying to do a reinstall or repair you need to boot up to the
recovery cd.
