I have a Dell Dimension 8200 computer with windows XP Pro installed. Almost
daily I save various file from either emails or from various web sites that
I have visited. At the end of each day or last computer session, I save the
folders, that were used to save the new data files, to my second physical
hard drive (F
. I should note that at the end of each backup session, the
data folders (with files) on the second physical hard drive are the exactly
the same as those on the primary drive, both in content and format.
However, this is a time consuming way of backing up the new files since all
of the existing files in the applicable backup folder are also over written
from the existing (same) files in the source folder. What I need is a
simple backup program that will only backup new date files to the applicable
folders on second physical hard drive. I checked out the windows XP Pro
backup program and it really complicates the backup effort, in addition to
having its own special file extension and making a special file for each
backup. I would like to be able to just add only the new files to the files
in the backup folders without any major efforts or procedures.
Sorry for the newbie explanation. Thanks for any help, Sam.
