Need a new mobo, suggestions?

I'm looking to upgrade my current system, which is a P4 1.8ghz on a P4TE w/512mb RDRAM.
It has worked perfect for the past 2 years, I'd just like to upgrade.

I'm looking at a P4 2.6 ghz (800fsb) cpu and some PC 3200 or PC2700 DDR. The price between the 2 speeds of RAM is only a few
dollars. The question now is the motherboard.

It looks like to me the best 2 chipsets are the 865 and the 875. I read somewhere the 865 may be better for gaming, which I
do. So then I look at the P4P800. It looks great, but there's a P4P800 deluxe. I dont see the difference, but it's another
$20. Whats the difference? Should I buy one of these 2 boards or should I look at the 875 chipset boards or another kind?
I've only done some limited research because I only had limited time. Plus you guys know more about this stuff than I do!

Major difference between p4p800 deluxe and p4p800 --- deluxe has everythin
on the p4p800, plus the following:

IDE RAID
The VIA IDE-RAID controller supports two-channel ATA 133, enabling
users to build Maximum 4 ATA-133 hard disk as an RAID0, 1 , 0+1 , JBOD
array. And the graphical user interface provides an easy way to configure
and manage disk drives or disk arrays connected.

IEEE 1394 interface
IEEE 1394 interface provides high speed digital interface for audio /
video appliances such as digital television, digital video camcorders,
storage peripherals & other PC portable devices.

The P4C800E-Deluxe is generally more stable in the real world than the
P4P800. And it is about 5% faster for gaming.

Wow, I just checked the prices on the P4C800, they are considerably more expensive, to the tune of $60-$70 more.
Looks like all it offers over the P4P800 is the raid and firewire port. I already have a firewire card, and dont need the
raid.

Thanks for your help!

Get the P4PE-X I have one and it does great. I use Corsair PC3200 and an Asus Geforce FX. NICE CHEAP SETUP.

I have a p4p800 delux. It had a an on board lan, on board sound and a
few other features over the p4p800. visit www.asustek.com for more
details.

I could never get the onboard sound to work and bought a SB 5.1.

Board is very stable at overclocking. My system is being OC'd at
1:1(CPU/ram) using Corsair PC3700 XMS ram and a p4 2.8ht. FSB is 237
instead of 200, slight increases in both vdimm and vcore voltage.

I am quite happy and will increase OC with time. various tests seen
online show the board only a bit behind the P4C800.
