NAV 2004 not Autoupdating

Any idea why NAV 2004 would fail to autoupdate? I've checked the settings
and confirm that it is set to autoupdate. If I go into live update and
click update now it works fine, just doesn't update itself.

The only thing I can think is that the machines are not using a modem to
connect to the internet but a lan connection through an adsl router. Maybe
they don't realise that an autoupdate is possible?

How long have you had Norton 2004 installed? Did you activate it correctly?
Is this a fairly recent problem or has it been like that since installing
it? Is your copy a legal copy or did you download it or buy it off eBay
from a foreign source?

Thanks for the reply.

Norton has just been installed and activated.

We have 8 PC's that are available for use by the public so we bought a 10
license pack. I don't want to reinstall the machines manually if they fail
so have prepared a Riprep image. Norton 2004 was imaged along with
everything else and I had to activate each copy manually after the image was
installed.

It may possibly be the imaging but I've found a good document on the Norton
site which will give me a few things to try next week. The document mainly
seems to concentrate on the scheduler service.

Norton 2004 is most definately legal, being bought from Computer 2000 a few
weeks ago.
