Great Product, No Problems - Question re AutoUpdate

Win XP Home, ZAF 3.7.211, NAV 2002, AdAware SE 1.05, SpyBlaster 3.2.

Downloaded MSAS Jan 6. Very easy installation and set-up. Really like the
interface.
Ran it w/o any problems and autoscan runs as scheduled.
The question - "How can I tell if autoupdate is working?".
I have MSAS set to autoupdate @ 10 am every morning and I can't see any activity
in ZAF at 10 am.
When NAV 2002 auto checks for updates, I see activity in ZAF as it connects to
Symantec's server and, if there are updates to download, I see that activity
also.
With MSAS, I don't see anything in ZAF. Anybody know why?
The manual update runs and reports back that:"most recent spyware definitions
are installed"
and "most recent software installed".
The spyware definitions are dated Jan 6 and the MSAS version shows v.1.0.501 and
also shows a date of Jan 6 (i.e. the date I downloaded and installed it).
I've seen references to "updates" in some of the postings; have there really
been definition and/or software updates after Jan 6? If there have been what are
the most recent definition dates and software versions?
If there haven't been any definition or software updates issued post Jan 6; can
anyone tell me how to see if autoupdate feature is working (other than waiting
until new definitions or software are issued)?
Thanks

How can you say that it is a great product if you have
all these questions and incertitudes ?

Did you even read my posting?

First - my version says Beta!
Second - I have 1 question re the operation of the autoupdater
I don't have any "incertitudes"

In the future, save yourself some time and don't bother responding to my posts..

New defs were released today, number 5682. You can see the def version in
Help, About. I've no idea what the meaning is of the dates--I go by the
numbers, myself.

The previous version, for some days now, was 5680
