I think I have just done something unbelievably stupid. I
have installed the XP-professional sevice pack 1 onto my
laptop, the problem being that I had XP-home on it. The
result seems to be that it will not boot up, in any mode
(safe or regular) it brings up a screen before trying to
boot and then briefly blue screens before crashing out
again.

Does anyone have any suggestions other than keeping me
away from computers? (oh and even more stupid, I did not
have a back up disk!)

IS THERE ANY WAY OF GETTING SOME OF THE FILES OFF THE
COMPUTER?
