mystery POP3 logon problem

R

Outlook 2007 (with all updates) on my wife's computer will frequently
post an error that the mail server (Rogers, Canada) is rejecting her
password. This may happen less frequently on my computer, and
stopping & re-starting Outlook will fix my problem. However, this
won't work for hers, and I have come to realize there are 2 possible
remedies:

(1) Delete the account, and then create another identical
(2) Stop Outlook, logon to Rogers' web-based mail service,
immediately log off, and re-start Outlook, which will now work
properly.

Rogers' support insists it's a Outlook problem, and I don't know
enough to argue otherwise. Does anyone have a clue?

TIA :)

Thanx for your prompt response!

ESET's NOD32 AV is integrated, and has a "compatibility" setting. I
hate to disable this (given my wife's history ...<g>...), so I'll
first try moving that setting from "most efficient" to "most
compatible" ... and report back.

Are you using a virus scanner that integrates with Outlook? Uninstall this
integration and try again.

Neither your computer's security or your wife's email will be compromised by
removing any antivirus integration with Outlook. The real time scanner will
catch everything it's updated for.
