mystery 8.93 MB history file that wont show and wont delete

Hi,

I am unable to completely empty the history folder (ie6 on Win98). I have
used

1) IE6 tools|internet options|general|clear history

2) Norton's "CleanSweep Fast & Safe Cleanup"

3) Windows' Disk Clean Up utility (but I don't think this effects the
ie history folder)

and all 3 fail to purge the mystery 8.93 MB.

Any ideas what is could be or how to delete it?

Hi,
You probably have a corrupt index.dat file which keeps growing.

Free History Eraser from
http://smartprotector.com/eraser/free-history-eraser.htm will delete the
History folder and the index.dat file quickly and easily. There are no
options, settings or "are you sure" warnings. Once you click on Erase, the
history folder is gone. I personally would not enable AutoErase.
