Mysterious service

Has anyone ever heard of a "DS1410D service"? This service is failing to
start and I can't find any information about it anywhere. I am unsure if it
is even associated with W2K

google throws up loads of references to DS1410D being a dongle?
 
I did the google and came up with Avid DS something or other. Didn't make
sense at the time but if it refers to a dongle then it makes a whole lot of
sense.
