my videos... camcorder

i dont know how to play a movie from my sony camcorder on
my computer. i have windows movie maker but i dont know
what file the camcorders recordings are under can anyone
help me please?

Connect your camcorder (it is a digital camcorder with a DV jack right?) to
your pc.

Windows should automatically detect the camera and ask you what program you
want to launch. Choose Movie Maker and follow the wizard.
