My taskbar and startup menu disappeared.....PLEASE help

hello..
windows xp..
problem
after repair installation my taskbar and start up menu disappeared
from my desktop screen...
no problems with booting...all icons are visible on the desktop...just
NO taskbar and Start button
now i can't use ..run option with command prompt
please help me to solve this problem

Natka,

You can press ctrl alt delete and look in the task list for explorer. Then
end task on it and see if task bar comes back. It also may be possible to
collapse the taskbar so that you can't see it. In that even you can roll
your mouse down slowly towards the bottom of the screen. When you see the
mouse cursor change to the double up and down arrow left mouse click and
drag the task bar back up. You can try safe mode and see if it will load
that way as well. To load in safe mode usually you push f5 on start up. It
can be kind of tricky depending on the system.

Perhaps it's just below the visible part of the desktop and not showing
on the monitor. Try adjusting the monitor image size with the controls

Also move the pointer down to the bottom, top, sides of the screen.
Does it change to a resize pointer? Press the Windows key, or Ctrl/Esc
keys. Does either bring up the Start Menu?
