A. Pick up the monitor and set it on its side. Lots of people actually
like portrait mode displays.

B. Try pressing the control key and each of the up/down/left/right arrows
till you get what you want.

C. Right click on the desktop, select properties, advanced tab, look for
special controls for your display card that will include a screen rotation.

Hi Kerri:
Did you get your problem fixed? A friend of mine is having the same problem
and we're not sure what to do. I'd appreciate any input. Thanks.

Right-click (downward-click in your case I guess!!) an empty space on your
desktop, then Properties/Settings/Advanced.... somewhere in there is most
likely a setting that needs changing.

If it's not there, see if there is a separate bunch of options for your
video card. I know Nvidia allows you to rotate your display.

Good thing it didn't do a 180 or you'd have to stand on your head to read
it.

First thing to try is control+arrow keys (left or right) Sometimes these
are set as shortcuts to the display rotation function.

I just had the same problem today and would like to know what really causes
this! I did a system restore to correct the problem but it is driving me
crazy to know how it happened in the first place. I had left my laptop laying
on the couch.....went to work.....came home and I find my dog laying on
it......and there ya go - screen is sideways! When I was trying to fix the
problem (before the system restore) I used my FN key and F8, at which time my
computer would flip horizontally but would not stay. Anyhow, if anyone knows
what applies this change to begin, I would greatly appreciate hearing from
you!
