screen display

My son closed a DVD case by pushing down on the cover on top of my keyboard
and now everything displayed on screen is sideways, it's like portrait
display, and even the mouse moves sideways and I am getting a very sore neck
from looking at the screen whilst trying to undo the problem. I did a system
restore hoping that might fix it, but it's still the same, can anyone tell me
what the shortcut is to turn the display back to landscape?

Start with Ctrl+Alt+Up arrow.
Play around with Ctrl+Alt+ other arrows if not.
You may also find the option in Control Panel-Display to rotate the
screen.

The ability to rotate the screen image is a feature of your video
card, to help it work with monitors that rotate to portrait
orientation. Almost certainly he accidentally pressed Ctrl-Alt, and
some arrow key.

Rotate it back using those keys.
