fine, its just that the screen is sideways. its hard to explain so ill

to turn ur head 90 degrees to the right to read things.

Hi,

Right-click the desktop, choose properties. On the settings tab click
advanced. There is usually an option here for most drivers to rotate the
screen display.

Your video card software probably has a feature to rotate screen
orientation. Right click on an open area of the screen, select Properties,
and look in Settings tab/Advanced button for a Rotate feature.

Or maybe you just have to set the monitor on its side?<g>

Hi Henry,

Is the desktop otherwise ok? I mean, are windows opened in the normal
direction? If it is just the taskbar to which you are referring, then you
need to right-click it and uncheck "lock the taskbar". Then left-click and
drag on an empty area of the bar and drag it to the bottom of the screen.

If not, then what sort of video display card are you using?

Hi,

Yes, it's the adapter. Is this a laptop or tablet?

My wife called me in to school today to have a look at an XP machine
with the same symptoms. Completely locked down. Right click desktop
gives a pop-up saying you don't have rights etc.. Somehow the kids
managed it, which is impressive given the oldest is only eight.

There's another way - but what is it? Another thread suggested Ctrl-Alt
and a cursor key in direction wanted. Doesn't work at home so it could
be a driver feature.

Any more ideas that don't start with "Right-Click the desktop.." or "In
Control panel..." - these school machines are locked down.

Thanks
