My program locks up when a movie starts?

I'm trying to play a movie in PowerPoint 2003. I can run the movie in
windows media player and by running media player through powerpoint. I need
to package all this to a cd in the end. I want the movie to begin playing
automatically when that slide loads. But as soon as the slide loads, it just
shows the first frame of the movie and then nothing happens. Power point
doesn't react, I can't close it or anything. I have to control/alt/delete it
and open it up again to use it.

How can I get my movie to play and once it does, will I be able to package it?

Try going to Start > Run and type mplay32.exe. Then open the video file. Does
it play? Or does the player lock up?

Yes. It starts and plays just fine.

Is there a file size setting that is causing it? The movie is a rather
large file.

It may be the file size. If so, that will become even more of an issue if
you package this presentation for CD, as not only will you be running a
large video file, but you'll be running it from a CD. And Windows takes
longer to read data from a CD than it does from its own harddrive, so...

That said, though, how large exactly is large?

And also, you might want to have a look here.
http://www.echosvoice.com/tshoot_video2.htm It may be something as simple as
a path length issue.
