my posts dont show up

i sent a post to the news group microsoft.public.windowsxp.help_and_support
and it hasnt arrived.
the next day i looked in my outlook express prog and saw that it was in the
sent items folder but did not arrive to the newsgroup
so i sent another post to the same ng and it showd up in the sent items
again but never reached the newsgroup.
my question is am i filtered out from this news group?
can i know if someone blocked my posts from arriving there?
thank you
p.s.
i cannot think of any other reasons why they wont show up there because when
i posted to microsoft.public.windowsxp.configuration_manage
it arrived and i got a reply.

Are you completely sure that you have it configured correctly? No-one
can block your posts except MS and if your post was legit (not spam or
offensive) then it would not be blocked.

I find that the news server has a habit of dropping some posts. IMO, since
help and support is a high volume newsgroup, there is a larger chance of the
server dropping them. You will get _some_ messages through...

i see..
so its probably a question of the amount of activity on the specific server
at the time i was trying to add my input...
maybe too many people were connected to that server while i was trying to
myself.
thank you

That may not be exactly the problem. I had the identical as you for a long
time and then it started working again. I found out what was wrong.

My default was news.verizon.net because of the service I use which is
verizon.net but when I manually changed it to msnews.microsoft.com the
problem started happening. When I finally realized that might be what was
wrong I changed back to news.verizon.net and messages I sent started working
again.

I could probably prove this by changing back to msnews and send a few
messages again that won't show.

p.s.; If this message doesn't show up then my solution was wrong.

And I found it to be the opposite way round with my ISP! I used to
connect via my ISP's news server when I first started looking at
newsgroups, then wondered why quite a few posts were missing, not just
mine, but responses that didn't make sense etc. Once I subscribed to the
NG's via msnews.microsft.com, I have had no problems, which is why I
posted the link that I did in my first post.

I shouldn't have said mine is working now. The response I sent never got to
me but your message did. Oh Well. I guess there is nothing I can do about
it.

I've been reading news groups from the beginning and this is the first time
this problem has ever shown up.
