my pictures

I have kodak easyshare, when I go into file I can see thumbnail photos, all of them, when I double click to view I get error message that photo are not there and are moved to a windows file. I have been working for 3 days to get the pictures back and printable. They are the only pictures of my granddaughter birth. I cannot loose them. Never had this problem before. I have restored my computer back to 12-21-03 when I know I did some printing. Still I cannot pull up my pictures without the error notice. PLEASE, PLEASE, HELP ME FIND AND PRINT THESE PICTURES. THEY MUST BE HERE SOMEWHERE IF I CAN ACTUALLY SEE THEM IN THUMBNAIL ON MY SCREEN.
Thank you anyone for some help, Mary Cushman (e-mail address removed)

You could check your recycle bin...the images
may be there if they were accidentally deleted.

Also you might find the images if you go to...
Start Button / Search / All Files and Folders...
in the...All or Part field...enter... *.jpg
this will find all the .jpg images that are on your
hard drive. (yes, you need the asterisk)

Do the thumbnails of your images have an Arrow
on them...do they say...Shortcut? If your thumbs
are shortcuts and not actually thumbs....they would
remain even if the original images were moved
or deleted. When attempting to move or copy
images if you right click / drag the images and
choose "Create Shortcuts Here" you don't actually
move or copy the image...all you accomplish
is to create a shortcut to the original location.

If the files were deleted and the recycle bin was
emptied....a software program of the type at the
following link may help you to recover the images.
