Kodak EasyShare replaced MSPicture and Fax Viewer?

P

Phil Jenkins

I got "free" Kodak EasyShare software, and loaded it. Now it has converted
all my photos to its (Kodak EasyShare's) format. It made Kodak my default
photo viewer, and I don't like it.

How do I get back to Windows Picture and Fax viewer as my default software
for viewing photos, faxes, etc?

Right click an image and from the menu...choose
Properties / Change Button...choose the program
you wish to use (Windows Picture and Fax Viewer)
and click...OK / Apply / OK.

You'll have to do this for each format...jpg, .gif, .tif, etc.

I note with interest your knowledge on Picture and Fax viewer, and wondered
if you might be able to help me with a problem.
I have just found that my Picture and fax viewer saves every picture i view,
some i do not wish other people to see on this computer, i have deleted them,
some 900+ but some of them have come back automatically, are they saved
somewhere? can i delete them for good? and what sort of space must they be
taking up?
Can i use another picture viewer and how can that be done?
Hope you can help.

Windows Picture and Fax Viewer...is just
a viewer...actually it's a .dll file...shimgvw.dll
to be exact.

I suspect the unwanted images you are in
your Temporary Internet Files folder. The
following articles should explain how to solve
your problem:

Tool in Windows XP

(260897) How to Delete the Contents of the
Temporary Internet Files Folder

Personally, I delete everything from my
Temporary Internet Files folder daily.

Here's the path to the folder:

C:\Documents and Settings\UserName\
Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files
