kodak easyshare

Hi, I have recently installed windows xp and have tried loading on kodak
easyshare but I get an error message (and have also read in software
instructions) that I need "administrator privilages". How and where do I get
this? If you have an answer please put it in dumb speak as I'm not very pc
literate.

Hello Becky,

In order to install some pieces of software you need to be an
"administrator" on the machine. The account that you normally use to log on
is probably not set up to be an administrator account.

To install the software you will need to log in as "administrator" with
the administrator password. If someone else set the machine up for you,
they may know this password.

Hello Nathan,

The color conversion based on display profiles need to be done by the applications themselves. So an application like ACDsee (assuming it's not Color management aware) will behave the same even after you install profiles using the new color applet. The feature that you are looking for might be available from your video card vendor and the translation will occur in the video card just before sending it to the display (but this might not work with actual ICC profiles instead it might be using LUTs that are stored in your video card (on per head)).

The new color applet gives you the ability to specify per-device profile (eg: for use in a multi-monitor system, but please note that this is depended on the video card that you are using), you may now see the 3D plot of the profile's gamut, apply custom adjustments to the gamut "on-the-fly" and setup remainders for yourself to re-calibrate your devices periodically.

In the standard XP CM interface, you can assign profiles to your default monitor only. But with this new applet, you can assign profiles to multiple devices (like the multi-mon scenario I mentioned above). With regard to your question, your projector and standard notebook LCD are treated as two different devices in the new applet and you can switch between them effortlessly(for eg: while giving a presentation).
