My Pictures: viewing Thumbnails

I need to "Arrange Icons by Picture Taken On". However, in the last folder
I created, this option is no longer available. Viewing by last Modified is
not good enough as a file may have been more recently modified than taken, so
is then not in order.
How can I get this option back please? It is still visible on previously
created folders.

Right click on the folder and click on Properties.
Click on the Customize tab and select Pictures for the type of folder.
There is also another possible problem. Right click on one of the picture
and click on Properties, then on Summary and Advanced. You should see a list
of item and Date Picture Taken should be there. If you do not see a list of
items, it is possible that you edited these photos with software that did
not retain this information with the photo file. Then this info is lost.
