My photos in word documents have all been replaced with this: " embed image expert image"

I have Windows XP and use an Image Expert Photo Shop for storing, editing
and moving pictures around.
I have numerous word documents with photos from work and they all were
converted (without
my doing anything) to this statement: "embed image expert image".

I have tried right-clicking on this phrase but the "open" and "convert"
buttons do not change this wording back into a picture.

Please Help! Is there a "master control" switch that will convert
everything back? How do I stop this from happening?
