I installed AVG free on my wifes PC. Now when I boot up and log on using any
of the accounts it shows the desktop for a second and then logs back off. I
tried booting in safe mode and the same thing happens. I tried to use the
recovery console and disabled the AVG files and that made no difference.
I am out of town and cannot get back to that PC for a couple of days. I will
try the remedies that Ramesh prescribed, How ever I did not remove
Wsaupdater.exe or any other files. When I did download AVG and ran the
program It told me I had a virus and removed or quarantined it. I was then
told to restart and I have not been able to log on since. So my problem may
be that I have a very pissed off virus so to speak.
